This is an adaptation of The Odyssey, with the main character of that classic, Odysseus, being given his better known Roman name, Ulysses. It's not a knock on John D'Aquino, but I don't really buy him as Ulysses, and I don't buy the character as one Xena would fall in love with. My best part about this episode is that we FINALLY get to meet Poseidon after seeing him in the opening credits after almost two full seasons.
