Love this episode and its one of my absolute favourites. Not only does it adequately show what a landmark series Xena was in having such amazingly strong roles for women - well illustrated here - but it also contains one of my favourite performances from Hudson Leick as Callisto and I'm glad to hear you say she is growing on you :-) I love Hudson in the role and i agree its a shame she never got to keep that scar as it added even more to her look. You should so cosplay her!! Hudson has also stated many times that her campfire chat with Renee O'Connor as Gabrielle here is one of her favourite scenes she performed on the show. Her and Renee did an amazing panel together at an Australian convention once and they had a great chemistry. Outside of the series, they're both very spiritual and loving people so its no surprise to me.

2024-12-01 15:12:04 +0000 UTCOh, come on, you can dress like immortal Callisto if you want to. :) This third of three parts is a great conclusion. I really appreciate that they had Gabrielle ask "What about Hercules?" as it seems like a far, far, FAR better idea than freeing Callisto. I'm okay with Xena's explanation that they don't have time to find him; we're left to wonder when Herc told Xena about what happened with Callisto. Velaska give a great speech at the temple of Artemis. And this is maybe Callisto at her best.
