2024-11-12 20:00:40 +0000 UTCAn episode with Callisto is always great and its so interesting to see how she interplays with Hercules here :-) I'm so glad you appreciate Hudson Leick's acting as the character. What I particularly love about Callisto is she speaks a lot of truth inamongst her intensity and trauma and is probably one of the most honest characters in the entire show because of that trait, often speaking things other wouldn't dare say or admit to themselves.

We didn't get to learn what Jason was hallucinating; I wonder if it was the "demon" he thought was after him in "Once A Hero." ... This crossover (of a sort) was a significant event, as we saw Callisto meet Hercules for the first time. Her interactions with Herc are very different from those she has with Xena, as they should be. She doesn't hate Hercules. It's very interesting when she says to him "The world doesn't deserve you." (Herc's retort of "It doesn't deserve you, either" is also great, and shows his character.) When she thinks she's won and says "Goodbye, Hercules" it's not vindictive or gleeful. She almost sounds like she'd be regretful, if she were capable of it, but instead just manages something almost showing respect, or something like that. ... "Guess I'm in a real bind!" Even Callisto cannot escape the power of puns on Hercules! And Herc does one of his occasional fourth wall breaking comments; I only accept this from Herc, like I only accept it from Superman winking at the audience. ... Great reaction!
