We still have a loooooot of racism leftover from the Spanish colonization lol been slowly but surely working on my family to change that but many times I was told when I was little I needed to date a white person to "better the race" or something like that. I think it is the opposite of Bridgerton - a costume drama that goes out of its way to make us feel uncomfortable and to remind us how different things were in the past - the incest, the racial slurs, the colonialism, the sexism, the dirt and squalor etc. Mulatto is someone with a black parent and a white parent but it is not a word that is used today. Instead, we would say Mixed Race. I believe they used the cochineal beetle to make the colour violet and it was a luxury item. I agree that the way they use the N word is very weird today. The prince did not have sunburn. His skin was red because he is permanently drunk. He was a real person called The Prince Regent and he was a terrible ruler. He is played by Mark Gatiss who you might know from Doctor Who. He was the old man who became young in The Lazarus Experiment and he played the World War One Captain in Twice Upon a Time.
