There's a lot to say about it, but, just so you know, you're right: the voice of the lead pirate was being dubbed in by someone else, and that someone was Michael Hurst (Iolaus), who also directed this episode. So, don't worry too much about seeing Iolaus again. ... I love the sand rays. ... Herc not only was unusually vulnerable in this one, he also basically took the law into his own hands by setting a convicted killer free. It's an interesting situation for a morally upright hero like Hercules to find himself in.
