Really is such a great opportunity this episode to see so many characters from previous episodes and it really does feel like a celebration. I too feel it works better as a Season Finale for Season 2 of Herc.

THIS is really an awesome episode, and there's a lot to cover about it. Characters returning from previous episodes: aside from Hercules' mother, Alcmene, there's Jason and three Argonauts (Once A Hero), Deric (As Darkness Falls), Dirce (The King of Thieves), the daughters of King Thespius (Eye Of The Beholder), Falafel (The Other Side), Micah and Heliotrope (Under The Broken Sky) Iphicles and Rena (What's In A Name?), Amphion and Lea (The Sword of Veracity), and even The Blue Priest (Hercules and The Lost Kingdom). This is sort of a celebration of the entire series up to this point. And Salmoneus makes a surprise cameo! ... I believe this should have been the season finale, although I guess you have Herc 2x23 left, but that's not a problem. ... Deric mentions his cousin Phantes. This is almost certainly the same centaur Phantes who appeared on Xena and married Ephiny. ... I can't prove it, but I interpret that giant crustacean that attacks the sea serpent as being sent by Zeus, possibly as a wedding gift for Alcmene. ... This episode had a dedication at the end to Jerry Siegel, co-creator of Superman. This is entirely appropriate, as this version of Hercules is less classical Greek suffering champion and more modern day superhero, and I think he's the best realization of that kind of character, in live action, to be introduced during my lifetime. Very good reaction!
