They really hit me with how they wrote, shot and performed Jack and Sarah's tragedy and complicated post-tragedy lives and conversations. I do feel it was a REALLY unnecessary choice to show the alien in the son's form to the mother, as tho that would lend her catharsis like it did for Jack.....this woman has no idea of what's going on, her brain cannot stretch to understand this, and I think that would have a) truly freaked her out and b) traumatized her all over again!
