Honestly I wish they would do something like this again, maybe a bit more accurate not just with the actors but with the story. It would be freaking cool!

Your point about the actors not looking Mexican enough is fair but, even now in 2021, there are hardly any people here in the UK who are of Mexican origin (let alone actors of Mexican origin)... probably close to almost none at all back in 1964. Of course if such a story were being made now I'm sure that the production team would make the effort to hire Mexican actors as doing it now the way it was done back then wouldn't be OK now. :)
