Not sure if you noticed, but the path "Kimber D'Antoni" takes to Brakebills is similar to that taken by Quentin in the series premiere, but Quentin had to go through increasingly dense trees and Kimber now has to climb over a gate. Also, the way Todd waits for and greets Kimber is very reminiscent of how Eliot greets Quentin in the same episode: each lay on a wall smoking a cigarette - but Todd chokes on his.
