This is really the first time the show has differed from history. Margaret Beaufort did not have a brother named Richard Wells who was killed by Edward IV. She had a brother named John Wells whose father was killed at the Battle of Towton which happened before the show and led to Edward becoming king, but her brother lived until 1498.
