IMPORTANT UPDATE

Hi~ been a while. currently still finishing 30% of the remaining commissions I had last July lol~ Reasons why I haven't responded to emails/messages is because I just want them all to be done and focus on drawing for a while. I had taken one too many commissions that month because I had to make some adjustments in my lifestyle.

Now, it took me this long and I realized that I have to make a change in how I do these commissions, specially when this is going to be my full time job. I will be implementing a schedule as soon as my last batches of commissions are finished.

For one, an increase in prices are going to be necessary. Since this would be my full-time job, I should be efficient in managing my time. For instance, with my normal rates, I can't keep up and I had to get projects twice or thrice as many just to get by with my expenses. You may imagine the delays it cost me when something came up, and I end up pushing myself and accepting more commissions.

Secondly. I would be much more productive once I figure out how to properly balance the supply (time) and demand (commissions). This would also ensure me some time for myself in the process while making sure to push out quality drawings 99% of the time *wink wink*.

Allowing me these things would greatly benefit not only me but hopefully all of you as well.

Lastly, vote Tanaka for president.

jk~

Im still quite busy this week, I want to finish my remaining works, as my funds are running low. I will open up slots for commissions by Sunday, given that I already have finished my previous batches.

I have lots more to say, but i forgot what it is. till then though~ I'm focusing on drawing atm, so see ya guys~ as always thanks for the support!

what do you mean? what is your email address? are we already working on a commission?

Cowboy Tanaka

yes! :)

Hey you still planning on doing the poll pic with Seako and Rin ?

we'll see for now, if it doesnt work out, I could always find another job this is something i want to try out, as well as give more time for me to do my own projects. there are other artist who charge way beyond that, and I still try and keep things affordable with regards to the quality of work im producing. Im actually giving time for myself to learn more anatomy, coloring and BG creation, because there is still so much i want to explore and create, but had no time to do so before without getting broke/burned out. $70 is still very low compared to other artists. andI personally feel like im still worth more than that. this is still experimental, like i said, if it doesn't work out, I'll explore other options :) and email me suggestions as well, I have seen the laffer curve, and understood it a bit. only i cannot apply it to my situation. anyway, im getting off tracked with my schedule, I hopefully would be back by sunday to open slots for commissions. feel free to email me though~

when already paid before this announcement, then no changes :)

I just hope this doesn't apply to people already paying you lol, I doubt it does, but still.

I'm a bit concerned for you that this will affect your demand. While there will definitely be people willing to pay $70 as a baseline I'm just wondering how many will be able to do so regularly, as it's a 75% increase? I understand this is now your source of income now but will you have enough clients to pay $70+/pic on the regular (what doesn't make sense is a $70 base but only $10 per additional char?) I'm not trying to tell you to change your prices (sorry if it comes across this way) but I'm just a bit worried if this ends up backfiring. If you looked at your own analytics or something and can find people that can regularly pay $70/pic, then I'm happy for you and hope all goes well for you. I just don't know how many people (especially newer commissioners) would be willing to justify that purchase (look up the Laffer Curve, maybe that will convey what I'm trying to say better). Personally I might have to cut back.
