From what I remember, Esnyr said he’s okay with any pronouns—even joked about using “it” once, but that was clearly just for fun. Filipino is a gender-neutral language, so most of us don’t really make a big deal out of pronouns. Sometimes we even struggle with them a bit since our language doesn’t really focus on gender. As for bowing, it’s not super obvious like in Japanese, Korean, or Chinese cultures. But we do have subtle ways of showing respect, especially to elders. Like mano po, where we place an elder’s hand on our forehead when greeting. Or when we slightly lower our heads while passing someone to excuse ourselves. Even a shy nod when saying hi is pretty common. Most Filipinos might not think of it as bowing, but I’d say we kinda have our own subtle version of it, it’s just naturally part of how we show respect 😊🤙
