That makes a lot of sense: the prevalence of 몰카 ("molka"), which is an abbreviation for 몰래 카메라 ("secret/hidden camera") is a genuine problem that became a big issue for women to rally around and fight against.

2021-01-08 17:45:29 +0000 UTCA few people have them but it's usually only a small few from fan sites. All those shutter sounds you hear are mostly phone cameras lol. I hear it's the same with phones in Japan. The sound is legally required to be on. On phones bought and sold in Korea, I mean. If you come here with your own phone from overseas, then it's fine.

2021-01-06 06:19:05 +0000 UTCI second what Kevin said. I, unfortunately, had to buy a phone here in Korea since my own US phone stopped charging lol. And now I'm stuck with the camera shutter sound and the sound can't turn off. I don't even bother taking pictures anymore lmao.
