My only encounter with Stephen was at a book signing during the Hay festival. He was very charming and chatted to everyone, his publicist was getting frustrated because she wanted him to hurry up. I tried to impress him by telling him my nephew is called Atlas because his dad is Greek. I cringe at the thought now, but he was very gracious about it.

My best friend corrected his German and it was a life highlight. I met Stephen on my first week of uni as he is from Norfolk where I studied - I was so star struck. But then I saw him in pubs fairly regularly. Then when I worked in London, he came to my workplace regularly. Meant to be! Ellen being your crush is hilarious - mine was Stephen Gately from the boy band Boyzone. He was the only gay one in the end 🤣
