The tardis noise was created by running keys along piano strings. Iconic af

The tardis sound effect is the original one from the 60s but I love it. It’s iconic and over the next few seasons you wouldn’t have it any other way. The reason the tardis feels so unstable is because they wanted the show to resemble a captain jack sparrow style vibe where he’s piloting this really temperamental ship rather than the Star Trek perfect machine. But I’m so excited for you to see more. Cause this show gets really damn good to points you have no idea are possible yet

The tardis key is seen as a very very intimate thing in this show. Cause the tardis is a ridiculously powerful machine. If it falls into the wrong hands it could literally end the universe or worse. So when he gives a key. He’s giving away quite a lot. But it’s kinda underplayed here so it’s not something you get from that.

it's about time someone clarified this, given that it's been explicitly stated at least twice in what Adam has watched already.😆 But their planet of origin had not yet been mentioned by name in the show and won't be for quite some time, so really shouldn't have mentioned that. I suppose it doesn't spoil anything 🤷‍♀️ so no harm done but please be careful 🙏♥

About the sound mix: The head writer/producer of the show at the time really REALLY loved the soundtrack, so much so that they intentionally made the music louder than audio in some places. They do slowly adjust this but it is an issue for the first couple of series especially. It's a bit jarring but at least it's a good soundtrack

The Doctor is not human. His species is Time Lord. They come from the planet Galifray

It’s not quite the keyboard you should be playing during the theme music. When Delia Derbyshire created the original orchestrations for the theme back in 1963 she was banging on piano wires from a stripped down upright with mallets. Among other peculiar instrumentation she did. Iconic.
