Over here (in the US), a matinee is a show they do in the daytime, usually cheaper admission than the normal evening showtimes. (Were you thinking of a mezzanine maybe?)

2025-07-16 10:54:37 +0000 UTCJohnny isn’t drunk here, there are some clips on youtube of the standup-shows he did when he was a full on alcoholic, and they are a *lot* more aggressive… this is just his humour. Jimmy is a huge fan of Johnny, so I bet he was having the time of his life watching him confuse Fry. The Acropolis-bit is the quintessential QI moment, I’ve been laughing at that for 15+ years.
