2025-04-20 21:01:05 +0000 UTCSimon Farnaby and Paddington did a sketch with Queen Elizabeth the Second for her Jubillee and kept it secret from her grandchildren. After she died, one of the most profound images people shared was her and Paddington holding hands with the “thank you for everything” quote from the sketch as it really hit us, and I’m sure everyone in the commonwealth whether a royalist or not, she was an icon. Simon didn’t write the first one, but did the second. Surprising appearance from Ayoade too. The Wonka film isn’t amazing but there are some surprising cameos from Phil Wang and Charlotte Ritchie! It don’t know how you get so far without crying, but I cried in the first 5 minutes of Up and Finding Nemo. At 28 mins you mention it’s quite surreal and that’s when it clicked, Paul King directed this and also The Mighty Boosh tv show. Forgive me if you’ve seen it already as it was a huge cult surreal comedy with musical elements created by Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt. Richard Ayoade and Simon Farnaby crop up in it. It was my first intro to Farnaby, I saw them live twice. Very different pieces of work but there’s definitely a style type like Burton, Wes Anderson or Tarantino. *please watch the traitors U.K. if you want to get into that side of things. It’s so annoying when I know I’m right and nobody will listen 🤣*
