Omake: Chad Hestia in PJO
Added 2025-02-26 08:46:01 +0000 UTCArrrgh, uh, my head.
"Give her space every everyone."
"Is this really Hestia? She looks so different now."
Did I drink too much last night? Was I celebrating something?
There were voices around me. I can't here my kids. Bell, Ruhig, Emily? Where are my children?
"She feels like Hestia. It's her, but... changed."
"What happened to Hestia, Hecate? You better hope to have an explanation for this!"
"I told you all that an empowerment ritual like that would have unexpected consequences! It drew power from Khaos. I told you that, you all knew that, this is not my fault!"
"I really don't see the difference. She's still small, and why is her power sealed?"
"She seems whole. Well if that's all, I'm going back to my forge."
"I need to go back to my Hunters. They seem to have found a male that watched Zoe bath, and is proving elusive in his escaping. I can't allow that. Punishment must be deal."
"Oh please, why don't you let them be. Maybe they'll discover something more interesting than your boring woods."
There were a lot of voices around me. One of them left feeling like Hephy. The other scoff and left. It felt like Artemis but... wrong.
No, not important. Hephy come back! I need my sexy best friend to hold me, while I recover from this hangover.
"So bodacious. Is that why she always took the form of a child and always wore a cloak?"
""Not now, Zeus!""
Two familiar voices shouted together.
"Shaa arrrup!" My headache is already bad, I don't need you making it worse.
"See, you're making her worse."
"Aunt Hestia, please allow me to comfort you with my light." An annoying voice came closer to me.
"Nooo, not the creepy one." I groaned as I forced myself to sit up. Last voice sounded like Apollo.
Silence.
Then snickering filled the room (chamber?) we were in.
"C-Creepy." The heartbroken Apollo whined. He sounded, well, more innocent, or rather nicer in a way then the one I knew, but still made me feel annoyed.
Okay. So maybe not creepy. That was harsh.
"Annoying then." I said speech coming easier now, headache was still too much.
God I'd take anyone holding and comforting me now. Even Freya.
Okay, okay, let's not get too crazy, she's still annoying. Loki is better. Teasing her is always fun.
"Aunt Hestia!" Soft Apollo cried out.
"Hahahahaha, please Aunt Hestia, tell us how you really feel." Laughed an annoying voice that reminded me of a growling boar or wolf and cackling skeletons somehow.
Oh, that's Ares.
Wait, Ares?! Are we being attacked by Rakia again?
I finally opened my eyes and froze.
I was standing in a giant chamber with twelve towering monuments—No. Thrones.
Around me were twelve gods, all Greek.
Olympians. And Hecate.
Wait Hades doesn't count as an Olympian, but he's also here.
Friends, acquaintances, allies.
Except there was this odd feeling I felt toward them. A strong connection than I remember.
And it wasn't because they all had their Arcanum unsealed.
Wait.
"...That's against the rules." I pointed out.
"What is?" Hera asked.
"Your Arcanum. They're unsealed." I stated the obvious. "Actually how are all of you still around then? Should you have all been booted up to Tenkai?"
"Tenkai?" Asked Poseidon who didn't look like the Poseidon I know.
"It's Japanese." Hades grunted. He... for the most part looked like the emo I know.
"It's Far Eastern." I corrected without thinking. "Wait, you know what Japanese is?"
The gods in the Danmachi world unlike what made people would theorize didn't know of 21st century culture and technology. They knew a lot of ideas from it, but actual knowledge what I knew as, modern world event, knowledge and history wasn't something they knew.
It was an odd mix of knowing concepts and events that were mirrored in the Danmachi Lower World or Upper World, but not what they are in modern 21st century world.
"Of course we know what Japanese is, Aunty." Apollo said confused.
"Wow. Didn't realize Hestia was secretly racist. This is amazing!" Ares grinned and laughed.
"Hestia is pure as snow and you will apologize, Ares." Demeter scolded.
"Why should I?" Ares growled back.
The gods began their bickering, that felt like they had done many times before.
They're almost like family. No, now that I focus on it, my Domain of Family resonates and tells me that—
"Hestia." Zeus spoke and the bickering stopped at the tone of authority in his voice. "You are Hestia, correct?"
"Of course I am, brat!" I said right away with a scowl. Gasps echoed around me. Wait, something is off. "No, wait, why did I think of you as a 'brat'? You're older than I am, even if you act more like a child." I said in deep thought.
I stood up (still shorter than everyone), as I held my chin in thought at this deep mystery.
Poseidon snorted. "Okay, yeah, she's Hestia. Reminds me of her when she was younger."
"Shush. We don't talk about that." Hades hissed.
"Wait, what? Why?" Apollo asked, smelling a tale.
"So in your memories," Zeus continued, giving the other a minor glare for interrupting him. "I'm your elder brother? Hmm, those are correct memories indeed. And as the older brother, you should listen to me."
"Oh for damnation's sake, Zeus? Seriously!?" Hades said.
"What? If in her memories I'm older than her, then all of you are." Zeus reasoned.
"No. I don't listen to you because your older. I have greater justification to kick your perverted ass, because your old bones can take it." I growled back.
Silence fell on the room again. Okay, what now?
"...Wow. This Hestia is way more outspoken than the one we know." Poseidon quipped.
"Hestia! You can't talk to your king and older brother like that!" Zeus wasn't fun and games anymore, but brimming with divine authority. The clouds gathered and darkened around us, in reflection of his mood.
"Older brother? King? What the fuck are you talking about?" I asked confused.
Danmachi gods don't have that kind of relationship. When everyone is some kind of all powerful mini-reality warper, then why would anyone be ruled by anyone else. Sure there were leaders and subordinates but not in the relation of kings and serfs as mortals understand it.
"What?" Zeus was affronted. The dark clouds dispersed showing his shock.
"Then who's your king, Hestia? In your memories, who rules?" Poseidon asked.
"No one." I said back, much to their shock. "We're gods. Why would we need to rule over anyone?" I said casually because that's the simple true.
"F-For worship. Hierarchy and distribution of faith, I mean." Athena spoke. I kinda forgot her being here, since she felt so different from the one I knew.
"Why would we need that?" Because again, I don't know how things work in this world (so I clearly ended up in another world, didn't I?), but back in Danmachi, we don't need worship to sustain us.
Only entertainment.
"So, you don't need faith?!—" Athena began slowly, shock still coloring your voice, when Hades interrupted.
"Hestia, why is your divine powers and symbol sealed?" Hades spoke. "You said that's 'against the rules', who decided that?"
Zeus and Poseidon looked at their younger brother in approval, at the question.
"All of us. All the gods. When we desend into Gekai, the Lower World, we seal our powers, otherwise, our lives their would get boring." I explained. "Where am I by the way? This doesn't feel like the Mortal World?"
"That raises so many questions." Athena muttered.
"Hestia," someone spoke up who had been quiet this entire time. The God of Wine had an unusual serious look on his face. Also he was sober and didn't give me the creeps. "You're in Olympus. Please unseal your, Arcanum, you called it?" Dionysus said.
"Dionysus." Zeus narrowed his eyes at his son, expecting mischief for this seemingly wise advice.
"Arcanum. That word, that's what you called your Symbol of Power?" Hecate asked.
"I think that's the meaning in your words, yes." I said as I stared at my hand in contemplation. This world didn't feel like the Lower World, me opening my Arcanum wouldn't break any rules, right?
I don't want to be separated from my kids, but I need to understand what's going on.
Wait!
My kids!
I focused on my contracts and...
They're gone.
All gone.
Tear almost began to fill my eyes.
"Hestia?" Demeter said in worry as she came to my side.
"Hey, are you okay?" Aphrodite asked in unusual concern.
"My children. I can't feel them." I said absentmindedly.
""WHAT!?"" Multiple voices shouted in unadulterated surprise.
No. Wait.
I can still feel one.
And the rest weren't cut. Weren't broken.
My kids weren't dead.
They were far away.
That was all the reason I needed to throw away my hesitation.
The lid kept on my power wasn't unsealed. It was broken.
My energy and aura skyrocketed. Exploded upward and outward.
I was complete. I was whole. I was unbridled once more.
As I felt the totality of who am I again, I looked inward at my contract.
Yes. My instinct was correct. They were still there but the distance was unimaginable.
"You have kids! Since when? Why didn't you tell me? Who was it that won your purity?" Zeus asked in desperate curiosity.
"Seriously, Zeus!?" Poseidon cried out.
"Don't act like you don't want to know!" Zeus said back.
"Hestia," Hades spoke. "What do you remember? I feel like we have a lot of question to ask each other to clarify everything." He said diplomatically.
"They're adopted. Gods can't have kids." I said as I looked at each of them and understood them, just as they understood me.
They were the Greek Gods of mythology. The ones who shared relationships as siblings, parents, etc.
The Olympians and Chthonic gods.
They also knew I was Hestia but not the one they knew. One that didn't have any blood bond with any of them.
However I got more insight into them than they did into me.
Because I recognized these specific Olympians.
The ones from the world of Percy Jackson.
Fuck.
Then again, almost all versions of the Greek Gods tended to be bad or annoying.
"What do you mean 'gods can't have kids'!? Of course we can!" Aphrodite cried out in shock and worry.
"I don't mind answering questions, but right now I need to go get my boy." I said, pushing aside all discussion.
Because I felt him.
The one contract that stuck close to me. The one contract the followed me to this world.
My first.
My Bell.
I felt Bell be turned into a jackalope.
"OH NO! MY BOY!" I shouted with panic and rage that set the world on fire.
The gods weren't bothered, only startled.
"ARTEMIS, RUUUUUN!!" Apollo cried. His visions of the future likely flaring up.
And they are right.
Because that fucking wannabe primitive camping NEET just touched the wrong kid!
""Hestia, wait!"" Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and whom ever tried to stop me.
I jumped down into the world below at a forest and set it ablaze.
===x===
Got you, you little twerp. Artemis thought in triumph, as she held the jackalope that was once a white haired, red eyed boy.
His hair and eyes were surprising, along with how young he was, but it was no reason to divert from her goal to punish him.
The boy was speaking in ancient Greek oddly enough. He didn't seem to know English beyond a few words.
Odd. It might be that his family were of demigod descendants who isolated themselves from the modern world. Which should be increasingly difficult give how the world evolved, but worthy of respect.
The boy was dressed like an ancient warrior and moved like it.
Shame that he had to witness one of her Hunter, her lieutenant of all girls shower, but it simple meant it was his fate to be humbled for daring to dirty her girls with his eyes.
Although... the boy had an odd divinity empowering him. One that had the feel of a familiar divine flame—
"ARTEMIS, RUUUUUN!!" The sun screamed at her.
Her head snapped up the sky to see her brother warning her with a panicked look, as he drove his chariot.
Artemis looked around for danger, ready for anything—
A giant flaming meteor descended on the forest she and her hunters were currently camping in.
The meteor slammed into ground a few miles from Artemis and her Hunters' camp.
A wave of heat exploded outward. It wouldn't hurt her as a goddess, but she and her hunters felt the oppressive heat fall upon them.
The trees started scorched and set aflame. Oddly enough all the mortals, what few of them there were, were left untouched, and even led by divine inspiration to walk the safest path out of the forest, hastely.
"ARTEMIS!" A voice she had never heard before called out to her. Yet she recognized it all the same. Something she could never even imagine.
An angry Aunt Hestia.
"LET GO OF MY CHILD, RIGHT! FUCKING! NOW!" Roar the voice of a wrathful divine that was sprinting to where Artemis was. Each step sounding like an explosion coming closer.
Artemi's eyes' in terror, as she took a closer look with her divine senses at the boy-turned-jackalope and...
Oh by her father's beard, the divinity that laid within the boy was of Hestia.
Hestia had a child!? Since when?
And even if he was crying about being lost when they were chasing him, why didn't he say who his divine parent was?!
Why didn't any of her Hunters ask him anything before?
Artemis was a goddess. She had her pride. As the ruler of the Hunt and wilderness, anyone within the wild would find themselves under her Domain, meaning her rule and word was law, since Pan had left so long ago, and only she was left to rule the Wild.
Yet right now the encroaching Hestia felt very strong and very, very mad.
But again, Artemis was a goddess and her had her pride—
Hestia broke through the tree line like a beast of primordial fire.
Artemis turned the boy back into a human.
"Aunt Hestia, look see, he's fine—GAAAH!"
Hestia lariated Artemis with her arm ramming into the Goddess of the Hunt's chest.
===x===
Back in the chamber of the Olympian council, Dionysus' laughter was echoing throughout the room.
"Somebody help her!" Apollo cried out to his fellow gods as they watched Hestia lay the smack down on Artemis.
"You're her brother, go save her yourself." Ares said between laughting.
"No! This Hestia is scary, she can box and kick my ass!" Apollo cried out.
"Didn't you invent boxing?" Ares asked.
"Yeah! And the fact that I still don't want to face her should tell you something!" Apollo said back.
"I fucking love this Aunt Hestia! Can we keep this one?" Ares looked to his father like a kid to whom the gladiator tournaments were started early.
"Zeus, Hades, you both felt it?" Poseidon spoke in a low tone to his brothers.
"Yes. Her strength in comparison to our Hestia is much greater." Hades muttered back.
"Still not as strong as me, but..." Zeus replied as he and his brothers shared a look.
This Hestia was almost exactly like how their elder sister was like during the Titanomachy.
"Would any of you please help before Artemis becomes like Tyr!" Apollo cried out, but it was too late.
===x===
Back in the human world, Artemis disentangled from Hestia, and was quickly trying to calm her down like a rabid beast, with her calm extended forward in a soothing manner.
"Aunt Hestia, Aunt Hestia, look! Your son is fine. There was no harm, no blood was spilled, no harm was inflicted. My Hunters were offended but they will let this go. See?"
"Grrrr!"
"I'm sorry for having seen one of your Adventurers naked, Lady Artemis. I swear I was lost and when I found one of your Adventurers and asked for directions, she said I was there to spy on them, and chased me." The white haired boy said in a panic. His tone made it feel like it wasn't a lie, or rather his demeanor made it feel like he can't lie. "Also, you should probably stay away from Lady Hestia right now." He warned.
"This is my aunt, mortal. What would you know—" Artemis growled dismissively.
CHOMP!
"AAAAH! MY HAND! MY HAND! SHE'S BITING MY HAND!" Artemis cried out.
"GRRRRRRR!" Hestia growled as she dug her teeth into Artemis' hand. No blood was spilled yet, but it was very painful for the Goddess of the Hunt.
"Lady Goddess Hestia, please calm down and let her go!" Bell Cranel cried out in panic.
