"And sent!" Gasper said to himself in a soft voice, almost whispering even though he was alone in his sealed room.
He didn't want to be too loud and be a bother to the rest of the Occult Research Club, even thought Rias told him many times he never was.
Gasper had finished his latest Contract, writing a cover letter for his client and sent it to him. A few minutes later, the payment was deposited to his bank account and Gasper could feel the magic of the Contract flare up, showing that it was completed.
He was finished for the day, having done his usual amounts of contracts. He should take a break.
But...
"I shouldn't rest." He muttered. It wouldn't be right after all.
Gasper Vladi was a Bishop of Rias.
And yet, he was never by her side. He wasn't even known to the new members of the Peerage, because he has so many problems he couldn't even meet them. He can't control his powers, he can't stop feeling anxious when he leaves his room, or when meeting people.
Gasper pulled up his legs to his chair and hugged his knees.
I'm a mess. Tears gathered at the corner of his eyes.
He wanted to help his King, he really did. Yet the thought of his power hurting the rest of the Peerage rather than help them was too much to bear. If only he wasn't so weak. If only--
"Huh, so that's what's in this corridor."
Gasper snapped his head to the door. Someone was outside, and it wasn't Rias. Didn't sound like any of the other Peerage members he knew either.
A look few clicks on the keyboard, and the computer monitor in front of him showed the view from the camera watching outside of his room.
Gasper's eyes widened in panic. It was Atsuko Hyoudou. It looked like she found his room while exploring.
Oh no. Did... Did he have to talk to her? Would she ask him to talk face to face? Just the thought was making his heart race in worry at the endeavor.
Gasper saw Atsuko stop at his door with an intrigued look, at the "DO NOT CROSS" tape, and the glowing magic seal on his room's doors.
"Hmm..." Atsuko held her chin in thought.
Gasper let out a sigh, that his fellow Bishop was going to leave, and just ask Rias about his room, and then just leave it alone after that.
"Yeah, leaving something mysteriously sealed like that is probably bad. I should tell Rias." Atsuko said.
Gasper smile in relief that the Hyoudou girl was now going to leave and find their King.
"On the other hand, it's something sealed here in the club, the seal is made of Demonic Power, which means Rias likely knowns, so it should be harmless. Let's break it open! Good thing I asked Irina to bless this molotov cocktail earlier." Atsuko brought up a bottle of semi-shining liquid that made the hair at the back of his neck stand on end. The glass bottle had a piece of clothe dangling from the bottleneck. She had the bottle in one hand, and a lighter in the other.
WHY DOES SHE HAVE A HOLY MOLOTOV COCKTAIL ON HAND!?
"WAAAAAAAH! NO! DON'T BURN DOWN MY DOOR!" Gasper cried out in a pitiful manner, running to the door, only to stand behind it not knowing what to do. He also didn't have visual sight from the cameras anymore.
"Oh? Someone is in there?" Atsuko's voice came from behind the locked door, and the sound of something being put away. "Are you okay? Why are you sealed in there? Are you an innocent person trapped, or an evil spirit sealed in?"
Gasper heard the sound of the lighter clicking open.
"No! I live here! Please don't burn anything! Huuuu." Gasper let out a whine, before he starting sniffing, trying to hold back fully crying.
"Okay, okay, my bad." Atsuko replied. The sound of the lighter closing with a click followed. "So why are you sealed in there? Are you trapped?"
"N-No! No..." Gasper pushed himself to talk, if only so Atsuko doesn't do anything else that's drastic. "I-I live here."
"Huh? But only club members should be here." Atsuko said. "If you're not trapped and you live here..." Atsuko said slowly. It felt like she was giving him openings to talk. "You know the club president, Rias Gremory?"
"Y-Yeah." Gasper said smiling a bit. "She's my King. I'm, I'm Gasper Vladi. A Bishop." He said in a hasty way. As if trying to get the words out before he forgot them, or got too self-conscious. Gasper then smiled, glad that he managed to introduce himself so well. He actually managed to push through the anxiety this time.
"Never heard of you." Atsuko instantly dashed the confidence he built from making his introduction. "But I do remember Rias mentioning having another Bishop and it's not like anyone can just get here and trap themselves." She chuckled.
"Muuuu..." Gasper whined with a pout, tears gathering at the corner of his eyes. "That's not what happened. I'm, I'm here by choice!"
"Really? Huh. Gonna have to ask Rias about all this." Atsuko said, mostly to herself. "Actually, wait you said you're there by choice? Why? Are you sick and can't be around people?"
"No. M-Maybe. Something like that." Gasper went to a chair and sat down. Hands on his lap, one holding the other, as he kept his stare down, even if no one is with him in the room. "M-My... my power is too dangerous. I can't control it, so it can hurt anyone without me meaning to. Just one look and you'll..." He trailed of.
"Ah, Medusa problem." Atsuko held her chin and nodded to herself. "No, wait. For Meduse you need to meet her eyes. Is that the case with you?"
Gasper made a noise as he shook his head, before remembering that the other Bishop can't seem him.
"I-I mean no." His face was alight with a flush, even if Atsuko didn't see him embarrass himself.
"Woah, just looking at someone and you turn them into stone? That's OP." Atsuko said, awe in her voice.
"Not stone." He said in a low voice. "My Sacred Gear, Forbidden Balor View stops time for anyone in my sight. If I look at someone and my Sacred Gear activates, they will be frozen for who knows how long." He brought his knees up on the chair, and hugged them.
Gasper waited for the reaction. Any minute now, his fellow Bishop will cry out in fear, or try to just make an excuse to walk away so she doesn't have to interact with him, or--
"WOAH! Seriously? That's freakin awesome!" Atsuko cried out.
"Eh?" Gasper blinked at the response he got.
"I mean, seriously that's so cool. You can just go 'Your defeat is eminent, for you are already in my sight'." Atsuko said in a deeper voice.
Gasper wondered why she did that, then looked at the monitors to see Atsuko take a pose of similar to Lelouch Lamperouge, the protagonist of Code Geass, with one hand on her face, her eye staring between two fingers, and her thumb pointing to the side.
A laugh jumped out of the dhampir's throat, before he covered his mouth. Yet he found himself smiling.
Atsuko... kinda looked cool doing that pose.
"You just laughed didn't you?" Atsuko deadpanned.
"N-No!" Gasper said back. "I t-thought you looked cool!" He said before a blush overtook his face, at him complimenting someone.
"Hehe, thanks." Atsuko said rubbing the back of her head. "But for real. You're power is pretty neat. So don't be so hard on yourself."
"Y-Yeah..." Gasper looked down with a small bitter smile.
He had heard that advice many times before. He didn't help this time either, but he guessed he appreciated the sentiment.
"Say you know about Rias' situation. That we're going into a Rating Game soon?"
Gasper's face paled. He could already feel the suspicion and then condemnation that would follow for him not stepping up to help their King, when she needed it most. He supposed this nice interaction wasn't meant to last long anyway.
A weakling and a coward like him didn't deserve it, or to imagine a friendship forming.
"Man, it's a shame that your in the middle of your training arc. But, once we're done with that, I'll come back here and help you out!" Atsuko said with a wide grin. "Okay, Gasper?"
"E-Eh?" Gasper blinked at that. My training arc?
Atsuko wasn't berating him, or sounding disappointed. She just... genuinely thought he was trying his best on his own.
A warm feeling build up in his chest, his eyes grew hot once more.
"I'll have to go for now, since Rias is taking us to her family training camp. I'll see you when I come back okay?" She said, giving a thumbs up, even if it wasn't seen due to the door between them.
"Y-Yeah. Thanks." Gasper said.
Atsuko turned to leave before, spinning back in the next step.
"Oh right, let's exchange phone numbers and emails. I wanna know my fellow Bishop after all. Got any advice for me, Senpai?" Atsuko said with a teasing tone.
"S-Senpai!?" Gasper was shocked at the title, before blushing profusely, not sure how to feel about it. It wasn't bad, but should he be happy or embarrassed. His emotions wouldn't settle on one feeling.
Ultimately Gasper felt like I wanted to answer this expectation Atsuko had of him. That maybe he should train to control his power.
The two Gremory Bishops exchanged contact information, one introvert feeling a bit better than he was before, and the other went to ask their King about her fellow Bishop's situation.
===x===
"Ah, you met Gasper?" Rias asked once Atsuko burst into her office like usual.
It was only them since the rest of the Peerage was preparing for the training trip, while Issei was back home also packing their bags.
"Well, not face to face, but met all the same." Atsuko said, as she leaned down, resting her upper body on Rias' desk, like a cat.
She had her head resting on her crossed arms, while arching her back, pushing her butt up and wiggling it lazily from side to side.
"Yeah," Rias said with a small smile of fondness. "Gasper's story is... a bit sad as well. I'll leave him to tell you about it when he feels comfortable enough for it. All I can say he grew up in a rough environment, thus his shyness, and I only found him while traveling in Romania, after he had died."
"Got it, tragic backstory. Wait for character reveal once I got enough affection points." Atsuko nodded.
"Really? Already trying to romance your fellow Bishop? I thought your target was me?" Rias said with a teasing grin.
"Have you met me? Harem Ending or bust!" Atsuko said enthusiastically. Rias giggled at the declaration. "Is sealing him the only solution?"
"Gasper's power tends to activate whenever he feels stressed, which... tends to be a lot." Rias sighed. "His room is more of a sanctuary to him than a prison." A frown then came to her. "If I was stronger I could have helped him control his power, but... I'm not there yet."
"How?" Atsuko furrowed her brows. "It's not like you can control his Sacred Gear for him."
"Yes, but if I had the strength to ignore or overcome his Forbidden Balor View, I could have then help him train with it." Rias said with a heavy heart.
"Heh, Mommy Rias worrying about everyone too much." Atsuko chuckled.
Rias gave her Bishop a deadpan stare, before noticing Atsuko's pose and held back a chuckle at the erotic behavior.
Her Bishop tended to be more cute than sexy. She knew Atsuko said that to get a reaction out of her and get her to stop feeling bad.
Then Rias remembered how Atsuko kneeled in front of her in Issei's room, when she tried to rebel against the engagement contract, and how opening wanton, and wanting Atsuko's expression was back then.
Blood rushed to Rias's cheek at full force, as she noticed how, with Atsuko raising her ass, her skirt was just at the edge of showing her panties and butt, without doing do.
Rias shook her head to focus on why she called Atsuko to her office, since tomorrow the Gremory Heir and her Peerage were leaving for the training camp, and the Hyoudous were going to spend their day with their parents who came back from their holiday trip.
Rias saw Atsuko's coquettish grin at having caused her King to look. Rias looked back in amusement.
She was a bit thrown off by Atsuko, since while she was used to teasing and flirtatious behavior from her Queen, Rias knew Akeno for a long time, and knew the raven-haired miko was only joking.
Atsuko was a bit more serious, but playful enough that it was more of a game, that she never pushed too far. Or required them to address the topic yet, if it's anything more than a game.
Rias told herself she just needed to get used to Atsuko's actions. She wasn't going to lose a teasing game to her young Bishop, when she's suppose to be the senior of the two.
Rias cleared her through.
"So about why I called you here--"
"Oh? Did I just raised a flag?" Atsuko grinned as she raised an eyebrow.
"You didn't!" Rias immediately protested.
Cackling rang out in the ORC main room.
