Let Justice Be Done Ch. 89

"Why is he glowing?" The Winter Queen said after a long silence.

The day came. A week after their child was born Viviane and Raguel finally went to visit Queen Mab to fulfill their part of the tasks to free Viviane.

They took so long to see her, rather than head to the Snow World, the very next day mostly in hopes that Lancelot's glow from all the angel blessings would have faded by then.

And while Viviane, and Eleen who was trailing behind her were standing stiff, in worry of the Winter Queen's reaction, Raguel was using his Holy Power to appear as stoic as possible.

Viviane wanted to sigh, as the only thing she could hear from her telepathic marital bond with her husband, was his laughter.

"My siblings happened to visit the day he was born, and couldn't help but want bless him with good fortune." Raguel said in a plain voice, and Viviane to try not to react, to the fact that her husband was struggling not to bust his gut from laughing.

"How many of your siblings where there?" Queen Mab asked.

"Ninety nine."

While Queen Mab's expression didn't change, for one moment, anyone looking at her could have swore her eye twitched in annoyance.

"And this fae blessing, I'm seeing." Mab said noted with seemingly casual indifference.

"That's, um, that was my, Y-Your Majesty." Eleen could barely get her words out. None more could crawl out for an explanation.

"I should have advised her to wait, your majesty, but I had just given childbirth at the time, and forgot." Viviane explained.

Queen Mab simply nodded, not commenting anything more. Which just mare Eleen pale even further, and the throne room seem more suffocating, due to the Winter Queen's silence.

"And lastly, that...artifact." Mab said with a pointed look toward the Archangel.

"It's a Sacred Gear." Raguel replied. "Guess Father didn't want to be left out of the gift giving." He shrugged.

"Your child is not human. At all." Mab did not growl in frustration. Her tone was even. Yet one could imagine a biting wind may have suddenly went by.

"Yep." Raguel had no shame in just brazenly admitting it.

"...I see." Queen Mab's expression changed. It was a smile with no joy, or any emotion really behind it. Her face looked like a sculpture, showing the theory behind a smile, ethereally beautiful without being real.

"The Biblical God, 99 Angels, and...a Fairy Godmother." Queen Mab calmly listed those who bless the infant Lancelot. Eleen quietly squeaked, before coming her mouth. "My, my, this child is really loved. It will be quite something to give a gift that could match those from before."

"We ask for nothing, my Queen. Only your blessing for good fortune upon our child." Viviane said with a small bow, which Eleen and Raguel replicated. Eleen and Viviane kept their head slightly bowed, but Raguel didn't as, he only kept his head down like so to the Almighty.

"Yes, yes," Mab waved her hand dismissively so they would stop, breaking demeanor for a moment to show a hint of her irritation. "Well, then I suppose I make my own blessing for your miracle child." She said with that cold smile again, "Wait here." Before turning and walking away, leaving everyone to wait for the queen's return.

The Winter Queen had left for her personal treasury. She didn't need to do so physically, but no one dared point that out. For a second, the Icy Palace shook, and instantly returned to normal.

No one spoke out.

The Winter Queen then return looking as her usual self. She held nothing with her, but even so approached the couple and the child all the same.

"For a child to be so bless, he will most definitely hold a most brilliant fate. Thus so he would live long enough to fulfill it, to achieve the greatness he is owed, and leave his mark upon history, I, Queen Mab, bless this child, Lancelot, to Winter's Bond." The queen's magic and lifeform reached out and linked itself to the infant, causing gasps within the throne room. "For as long as I live so shall he. No matter where is he, the cold will be his friend and never bring a lick of harm upon him. Blizzard and snow are but another home for him." She declared, and an echo of power spread through the Winter Realm, her words becoming solid and real.

Viviane, Raguel and Eleen thought that was the end, but that wasn't so.

"Further more, so that he never fear battle, I grant him this," the Winer Queen summoned a sheath glowing with icy and white outlines and decorations. "Ciúin, it can mend and fix any blade restoring it to it's pristine form, as long as the hilt is placed upon it." Viviane blinked at that. The queen continued. " And for as long as as he holds the sheath with him, should he invoke it, he will be hidden from the world by the very dreams of sanctuary, never be harmed by blow, winds or even time." She gave the sheath to Raguel who silently took it.

Then the Winter Queen held up her hand and opened her palm. Magical energy gather about it, as she summoned her next treasure. It looked like a pair of eyes looking like jewels yet made of mist, all contain in a magic sphere.

"Next, so that death would never surprise him, I grant him one of my most ancient treasures, the Sight of Balor." Cries of shock echoed within the Icy Palace. Viviane's eyes widened, Eleen covered her mouth in awe, and Raguel stood straighter, looking seriously at the Winter Queen, the other Winter Fae's reactions, as well the treasure itself.

Using his sight on it, he could see that that's literally what it was, Balor's Sight. Thankfully without any the god attached. Yet he wondered how Mab could have possibly gotten her hands on such a thing. According to legend, or history, Balor died slain by Lugh. Could she have tried to get his eyes and failed, thus gotten his sight instead?

"With this Sight, he shall see as far as the horizon, and even a single grain of sand flying in the air." Mab then moved the magic orb toward the infant, as it shrunk and disappeared into his body.

The group though that was the end, only for the Winter Queen to raised up both hands, and slowly magic gathered, with such force and density, Raguel almost worried it was an attack, only for the icy fae magic to condense and form into a blade.

It was a blue colored sword, with an aura so cold around it, it was visible as it trailed around the blade as it moved.

Looking around at the reactions of Winter Fae, Raguel was starting to see some of them being so shocked, that their magic affected the environment around them, like one fae was literally frozen in time for a while. For the fae to lose control of their magic like that, Raguel was starting to fear how significant this gift was.

"Finally, I grant this child, one of my very own blades. Aurora, the Summer's Bane." Just from the name and description alone, Raguel was starting to see how big of deal this was. "The sword hold winter's own touch. With it, he can command the cold and snow itself, and a single cut from it, will freeze his opponent eternally."

The sword floated to Raguel, and he moved to grab the hilt, when the sword flew and went into the magic sheath by itself.

"That was my blessings for your child." Mab summarized.

"And we gratefully accept, your Majesty." Viviane said and Raguel repeated, still surprised by all of this. He wondered why Queen Mab would go overboard like this, and made a mental note to ask his wife about this when they return home.

"Well," Queen Mab smiled once more, this time, it almost looked genuine. "I look forward to little Lancelot's future with great interest." She said as she looked the couple in the eyes, then looked up and spoke with a louder tone. "And I suppose for such a great occasion, why not add to it with a celebration." Said the queen, and no one could oppose. Then Queen Mab looked at the pale Eleen.

"A celebration, to the rise and promotion of Lady Eleen, as recognition for all her efforts, I, Queen Mab of Winter, hereby grant her the last title of, Lady of the Lake."
