Let Justice Be Done Ch. 80
Added 2021-11-09 11:38:46 +0000 UTCIt was always an infuriating feeling for everything to go exactly as you planned, and for it all to go so horribly right. Titania, Queen of the Summer Court couldn't help but think.
"I believe the best option to preserve the timeline is to completely remove any travel to the past." Said Vishnu in a modest tone, yet Titania could see how easily his opinion swayed everyone in the room.
When one of the Hindu Chief Gods spoke, their power and influence alone made their opinion almost a rule.
This situation was worse than Titania or Mab could have planned, as they never expected Vishnu to attend. In fact, they planned on him not arriving, as they held this meeting while he was in his cosmic meditation.
What possible reason for him to wake up and attend the meeting they didn't know, but his presence was only worsened by the God of the Bible.
"I concur." God said with a humble smile, that annoyed Titania to no end. "In fact, I would go so far as to suggest that we stop travel to the future as well. While the future can be in flux, bringing back items from it, can cause a causal link to bring about that future, or shape that future to the traveller's will. Basically it's changing the past but with extra steps. So let's ban that one too." God said with a casual shrug, and Titania could see Mab was using her entire will and self-control not to go off the handle on Him.
"Hmm? Lord Creator is also vehemently against changes to the timeline?" A polite voice said with demure curiosity.
Titania realized a second later she had been the one who had spoken, and mentally grimaced that her anger slipped through like that.
"Yes, I have to agree." Vishnu said with an exasperated scowl, to which the Creator smiled back in good-nature. "Weren't you the one who profited most in your war from the alteration?"
Titania kept the frown off her face, as she could see how the path of this conversation, and thus the meeting will go. Openly pointing out that accusation just plays into the Biblical God's hands.
"A future version of me certainly did so, and while I can simply ensure to never do such a thing again, my children would be tempted. Thus it is better to remove that temptation all together." He replied.
"Oh what? You can't control your soldiers, YHWH?" Sneered Manāt, the Semitic Goddess of Destiny and Death.
"I don't need to 'control' them." God said in a calm tone, yet the mood seemed to have an edge now. "Before being my messengers, my soldiers, they are my children first and foremost. So no, I will not alter their wills or anything of the like, Manāt." The goddess in question grimaced and looked away. "However, I do recognized that this is Alteration Path had been the result of me initiating it, thus I am willing to ensure it never happens again."
"Why is this even a discussion?" Said Hemsut, the Egyptian Goddess of Fate. "Any time a mortal, or anyone for that matter, manages to create an Alteration Path, all of the written fates end up changed and needs to be recalibrated and reexamined. Does anyone here actually want more work?" She demanded.
""Redoing the weaves is really tiring on our poor hands."" Said the Norns collectively, who were the Norse Goddess of Fate for the Past, Present and Future.
"Oh shut up you lazy bums, since when do you have to do any work? You already did your homework a long time ago and set it in stone, so you don't have to do anything else." One of the Moirai said.
"Enough already," Chronos spoke, shutting up the Moirai from making things fall into further arguments. He looked toward the Biblical God for a moment, then sighed, already seeing how things will turn out. It's part of why this meeting will turn out to be a short one if peace is to be kept.
Having deities and spirits of time discussing a subject, just ensured they all know where the topic is going as they already experienced, or know they will experience it, thus it is best to get things moving to the finish line already.
"I think we all know how this will go. With YHWH and Vishnu on the course for just banning any time travel. Period. We have a solid point to vote on, so let's start already." Chronos said.
"All in favor of shutting down and removing all possibilities of moving forwards or backwards through time, and, or trying to cause any alteration to the timeline. Aye or Nay?" Mab spoke, but even she could use this moment to try and gain prestige of hosting the meeting. Her tone while stoic had a resigned echo in it.
""Aye"" It was a near unanimous vote, with the one or two deities or spirits that still held out hope of using time travel to their advantage swept away, by those saying 'yes'.
The Grant Divine Ritual took place on the same day powered by the various gods, goddess or spirits related to time in one form or another.
And thus Time became a river where one would only swim forward.
===x===
It was after the meeting that Titania and Mab were sitting together in their neutral ground, a castle in the Paradise Isles of Avalon, where they silently partook in the most delicious of foods and drink, and witnessed the most beautiful of sights, be it art, nature or beautiful creatures.
Yet none of that elevated their moods.
"It's His fault." Mab broke the silence. "It's the only way Vishnu would have arrived." She said staring out the window at the glowing waters of the lakes within Avalon.
"Acting on mere speculation is hardly befitting us, dear Gerda." Titania said in jest.
Mentioning that Mab inviting the Biblical God being the reason things turned out the way they did, would be in poor taste, and because they couldn't not invite Him given the close relation Mab now has to one of His Archangels.
Mab gave her counterpart a long deadpanned look.
They both knew each other's True Name, and both were too powerful to be controlled through such means.
Of course, they were both alone as their animated castle's magic would provide any service needed.
"And I believe we agree to leave such names in the bedroom, Helen." Mab said back.
"We are in a bedroom." She said with such a cheeky smile and tone, that Mab couldn't help but roll her eyes and look away. Yet a small amused smile returned to her lips. "Have you managed the acquisition yet?"
Mab's expression returned to her usual stoic one.
"Not so, sadly. It won't happen for a while." She said.
"Oh?" Titania tilted her head.
"The Black Beasts are instinctively smart. Even if they roam the fae lands, they stay clear of my personal realm, opting to grow and gather strength as they travel before heading to the Human World." Mab explained.
"They avoid my Eternal Spring Fields too." Said Titania noting the beasts avoidance of her realm. "Didn't you set that Archangel to find you one?" She then held an amused smile. "But really, is it worth losing that blacksmith girl?"
"I don't expect to 'lose' her for a few more decades, but even so, till then I still expect to have a lot of golden eggs from that goose." Mab chuckled. "I gave him a sufficient time period of completing that task, then added 15 years for whenever he completes either of the other two task, that way Viviane will stay in my service long enough."
"It's always amusing when someone fights against fate." Titania shook her head in mirth. "Honestly, if he had fulfilled that task, and freed his wife from your service, he would no longer have to worry about your requests looming over his head."
"Maybe so," Mab smiled. "But the more beasts he finds and destroy, eventually he'll reach a point where he'll have to bring back a piece of one. He might think I would use the Black Beast or a part of it to empower myself, and be corrupted or some such nonsense."
Titania laughed heartily at the image. "Can you imagine? Do they think us one of those crows that wishes to experiment with Lightning, thus flies into a thunderstorm."
Both Fairy Queens laughed as they remembered that incident. Although the Fallen Angel Baraqiel did grow in strength by training himself in such manner, but that was neither here nor there.
"Well, Phaedria mention that the longer the wait, the better the Black Beast part that we'll get as a bargaining chip." Mab said.
"Oh? How is my dear old friend?" Titania said back. "Do tell," her smirk now held a dark hint to it. "Did she have any interesting prophecies lately?"
Mab smirked in turn, and any who saw her grin would have frozen in terror.

I would say to become to saturated in magic that you become a partially made up of magic rather than a fully physical being.
