Let Justice Be Done Ch. 78

Tsufaame woke up from hearing a small crash in the middle of the night, like something fell and broke in the hallway.

An assassin? Her eyes, narrowed, as she heard another table being hit and scraping on the floor. An incompetent one at that.

Tsufaame left her room to find two people under a bedsheet.

"What the?" She blinked in confusion at the sight.

Tsufaame easily noticed the maid's energy signature, Barbara, while for a moment she thought her a saboteur of sorts, only for the second energy signature--now that she focused on it--to obviously be Tuilelaith.

She saw the two move in silence. As in literally there was no sound coming out from under the bedsheet, nor any footsteps.

Then the person at the front, Tuilelaith, hit one of the sides of the hallway furniture, causing a painting to almost fall, which explained the sounds of bumps and crashes earlier.

"Lady Tuilelaith, what are you doing?" Tsufaame asked, one foot out of her room into the dark hallway.

Tuilelaith jumped in a startle, as she turned to Tsufaame, not moving for a moment. The Leviathan Heir not seeing Tuilelaith's shocked expression, just her eyes, in the two holes in the bedsheet.

Tuilelaith then started gesturing with her hands, but no sound was coming from her.

"Um, Lady Tuilelaith, I can't hear you." Tsufaame mentioned.

Tuilelaith's eyes widened, as she hit her open palm with her fist.

Tsufaame felt some form of energy cloud, that felt to her senses like something familiar, left off of the sheet, then she could hear the sounds of the two devil's breathing and moving.

"Lady Tsunami, what perchance are you doing up at this hour? Shouldn't you be going to sleep, young lady? You ruin your sleep cycle like that." Said Tuilelaith.

"And not even blinking twice at the hypocrisy of what she just said," Barbara nodded to herself. "Truly, Young Miss is an exemplar of what a devil is."

"Quite." Tuilelaith said absentmindedly.

"I heard something be hit or knocked over, then I saw you when I got out." Tsufaame answered Tuilelaith's question. "And my name is Tsufaame Tereaku Leviathan, Lady Tuilelaith."

"Tsunami Teriyaki Leviathan, got it." Tuilelaith nodded.

"She said 'Tsufaame Tereaku Leviathan', my lady." Barbara corrected.

"That's what I said, Tsufaame Tereaku Leviathan." Tuielaith nodded. "As I was saying, how did you see us?" Her eyes then narrow. "Do you have some sort of magic eyes to see through concealment?"

"Um, no Lady Tuilelaith, I just saw a sheet with two people on it." Tsufaame said.

"Hmm, but I have perfected using the Power of Destruction to kill all sound under the sheet. What could have caused our detection?" Tuilelaith held her chin in deep thought.

"It could be not seeing where you're going, and in your hurry, you end up hitting objects that are out of your view?" Barbara suggested.

"Nonsense, my vision is perfect." Tuilelaith said dismissively, before looking at Barbarba's large breasts and hips. "I suppose it could be the unaccounted weight to concealment cloak. You were walking behind me correctly, right?"

Barbara's sharp tipped devil tail, moved faster than either devil present could perceive and poke Tuilelaith's butt.

"YEOW!" Tuilelaith shouted. Thankfully Barbara placed a magic shell around all three of them to cancel sound travelling further out.

"Are you okay, Lady Tuilelaith?" Tsufaame asked in concern, stepping closer to the Gremory Heir and her minion.

"What was that? An invisible Cerberus? The Loci of the Ten Plagues? What manner of assassin dared to prick my bum!?" She demanded.

"It's probably just a mosquito that saw you unaccounted weight." Barbara deadpanned.

"What was that?" Tuilelaith asked.

"It's probably a delayed pain of all the injuries you just procured hitting you all at once, which is why you were unbothered till now." Barbara lied as she breath.

"Hmm, my powers are so mysterious, they befuddle even me." Tuilelaith nodded.

"Excuse me, but why are you up, Lady Tuilelaith?" Tsufaame asked.

"Ah, yes." She turned to her guest. "The adults seem to be conspiring something, given that I can't find mother and father in their room. I am sure they are making like thieves in the night, scheming to deny me cookies." Tuilelaith said seriously.

"Savagery." Barbara nodded equally as serious.

"Errr, I don't they would--"

"Regardless, it seems fate has brought us to gather to join forces on this quest into the dangerous and unknown. Thus, Lady Tsunami," Tuilelaith held up a part of her bedsheets. "Get under the blankie."

"Her name is Tsufaame, my lady."

"I don't really mind."

"That's what I said, Balaila, Tsufaame."

"Barbara."

"Yes, Barbara."

===x===

"...That's why I'm thinking of going." Said Serilina.

Tsufaame gasped as she saw Lady Leviathan was involved in whatever discussion was keeping Lady and Lord Gremory up at night.

Tuilelaith muttered how she couldn't believe Satan Leviathan was part of this chicanery.

The group silently watched from the door gap outside the room. With the bedsheet still on them, but with three pairs of eyeholes to see through, rather than one.

"Has it really come to that?" Zeoticus asked with a frown. "Dealing with the fae tends to be troubling, even in that situation."

"Not to mention the possible people you might end up meeting there." Venelana added.

"The auction enforces a truce, so it should be fine, and I'm strong enough now, that few things can actually endanger me." Serilina said reassuring them.

"Gods could." Venelana insisted.

"Maybe," Serilina  shrugged and smirked. "But that just means not to start fights with them, even then I could still hold my ground."

"She's talking about Greek one, Serilina." Zeoticus said.

"Maybe," she frowned. "But I can't see them going to the auction. They don't know our actions and while they respect hospitality rules, I doubt they appreciate magically enforced ones." Serilina clarified.

"Like my husband said, is the situation that dire?" Venelana asked. "Be it at the front or with the Buné Family?"

"Yes to both," Serilina let out a tired sigh, showing vulnerability for the first time. "We might be killing more Grim Reapers, but we are losing cities more than successfully defending them, or pushing Hades's forces back. The Greek Heroes are far more of a devastating problem than expected, so we need Draghignazzo to turn the tide."

"But what you said about those Malebranche--" Zeoticus began.

"I know!" Serilina growled, her demonic power flashing for an instant, before she immediately reigned it back in. "I'm sorry, but I know, and this situation is enough of an emergency to warrant it."

"And the Buné members are being fed to it in a trial and error in order to give it a user." Venelana summarized the situation. Serilina nodded. "Will Lord Lucifer manage to control such a beast?"

"Lady Lilith assured him that he would, when I was there." Serilina nodded. "If we just have that we can start fighting back and have a true victory, not a pyrrhic one." She said as she looked at her hand in resolution and closed it into a fist.

Tsufaame was overwhelmed by this discussion. From the familiarity and comradery between Lady Leviathan and the Gremorys. To Lady Leviathan's real view on the war effort against Hades, to the hope and determination in her words to turn the situation around, to the mention of the Great Mother and being in her presence at the end.

All of it was something Tsufaame wished she could speak to her Matriarch about, but...how would it be possible to do that without appearing like some eavesdropping peeping tom.

"Well now," Zeoticus said with a jovial tone. "At the very least, you're going to a fantastical realm, so don't forget to bring souvenirs."

The group began to chuckle, the mood becoming more lighthearted.

"Actually don't you need an invitation and something to enter the auction to bargain with?" Venelana asked.

"Lord Lucifer has a few, so I can just borrow one, and there is a sufficiently powerful, but technically not essential item that can be traded." Serilina didn't say it was the other Malebranche that Lady Lilith told her about, that had no Qlipha base, just like the one Lilith traded with Azazel for a truce.

"One thing is for sure though," Zeoticus said, getting the ladies' attention. "I'm glad we're having this discussion now, and not when Tuilelaith is awake. She's already been pestering me about going to the Human World, and it is far too soon for that. Imagine if, well." He gesture at Serilina and the trio laughed at the imagined situation.

"No please, imagine if what?"

AN: Sorry if this feels half done, but I just don't have the energy to continue. Next and final part of this tomorrow, then we move on to the Time Discussion Meeting with Gods, Spirits and the Fae.
