Let Justice Be Done Ch. 74

"Is this the place?" Viviane asked as she and Raguel came into the village of Carmarthen.

"Yeah," Raguel said, unable to keep the frown off his face, and the guilt out of his heart.

"Dear," Raguel turned to his wife. "It's not your fault. You have been busy with the Winter Court and everything else." Viviane said, trying to reassure his feelings with her own.

"I'm an Archangel, Vivi. I'm suppose to sa...to protect people." He switched the word as he recalled the words of his Father before he left Haven. "I'm suppose to be better, and not just...have things slip my mind."

It didn't even occur to him that Myrddin being at the auction, that his mother was left worrying about him. That Myrddin being at the Fae Realm meant he hadn't been in the Human World for three, maybe four months now?

Four months his mother had no idea where he was?

"Raguel," Viviane held his arm, as they walked, a pleading look in her eyes. "Please stop."

Raguel took a deep breath and let it out. Guilt will get me no where. Take action. He told himself.

The words of his Father's last lesson returned to his mind.

"You can not save anyone. The only person that can save you is yourself. As for others, you can only show them the path, they can only walk it then when they have the willingness and courage to walk it themselves."

He knew it didn't apply to the current situation, but it felt like it did, even if it logically didn't.

They easily reached the Emrys Home, and Raguel knocked on the door.

"Yes, who is it?"

Raguel and Viviane were taken slightly aback. The woman's voice was normal, maybe even cheerful.

As Myrddin's mother opened the door, the two were sure this was not a woman in mourning.

"Hello, Katrina Emrys, I'm not sure if you remember me but--"

"L-Lord Raguel, my Lord!" The woman smile and got to her knees.

"No, no," Raguel said as he went down to help her stand again. "You don't kneel to me." He found himself chuckling, as the young mother blushed.

"I-I'm sorry, my Lord. I'm so honor to be in your presence again." Katrine then looked concerned. "Is something the matter, did Myrddin get into trouble again?"

Raguel and Viviane exchanged a look at the odd casual attitude. She didn't seem distressed at all.

"No, Myrddin's well..." Raguel suddenly felt like the barer of bad news, if the woman didn't know that her son was gone.

"We're here about your son, Miss. May we come in?" Viviane spoke.

"Oh, of course! Certainly! And I'll go get him." Katrina went into the home.

Raguel and Viviane looked at each other in alarm, as they walked in.

What did the young peasant woman mean? Did she not know? Was she delusional? Was someone tricking her.

"Yo!" Greeted Merlin, the Myrddin from a once future timeline.

Upon entering the house however, Raguel was surprised by an encounter he never expected to have.

"What in God's name is this 'Yo'? Speak in proper words, boy!" Katrina held the boy by his ear. "Don't you know who this is? This is the Lord Archangel that baptized you! Have some respect."

"Maaaam, it's fine. See, they don't worry about it. Chillax~." Merlin whined as his mom held his ear.

"'Chilla'--What the bloody hell does that even mean? Where do you even hear those words? I swear if you're picking up words from the blacksmith's daughter again, I'll--"

The tension was broken as Raguel started laughing.

He wasn't even sure why, but he was relieved. The guilt returned anew, from a different reason now, that it seemed he was likely enough to not face the consequences of something, but he was still glad at least things seem to be fine here.

"Ma'am, please, calm down. Everything is fine, he's not in trouble." Raguel said while smiling, and holding down the rest of his laughter. "And I believe he's using some slang version of 'relax'."

"Ah, right! Thank you, and I'm sorry for such Lord Archangel!" She then dope slapped her son. "You too, thank Lord Raguel for taking the time to come and bless us with this visit."

"Ow, ow, okay, okay," Merlin then gave a half-hearted bow. "What's up, Raguel?" He said with a cheeky grin.

"'What's up?' Speak proper, boy!" Katrina looked flabbergasted at his attitude, and a little embarrassed.

"Mam, seriously, he understands what I mean." Merlin argued, really getting into the childish role.

"Excuse me, Ms. Emyrs." Viviane said, cutting into discussion before it could devolve, no matter how amusing it was. "May I use your kitchen?"

"Oh, my Lady, there is no need for--" Katrina tried to object.

"I insist. We have arrived unannounced, and I wish to cook us a meal." Viviane offered.

"Sorry, Katrina, but please indulge my wife." Raguel asked.

"Your wife..." Katrina was so shocked by the statement, Viviane was easily able to lead her away from the room, as she could feel her husband's want to talk with the half-fae boy alone.

"So," Merlin spoke once they were alone, his attitude changed to his mature self, that Raguel was familiar with. "Did you guys bonk and have Lancelot yet?"

"Wait, we name our son after that NTRing little shit!" Raguel said, shocked and personally offended.

"Oooh, guess that was spoilers. Also you can not imagine the hilarity of how history books change with time." Merlin chuckled. "I'm guess you're not here about Ragnarok?"

"No, I'm actually here about the--No wait, what did you mean by Ragna--You know what, explain everything! Starting with how are you still here!?" Raguel all but shouted.
