Yes Hayley was supposedly ill that night, and so that's why he didn't attend, but in an interview afterward showed he didn't think he would win, so why bother attending? As a proud Detroiter, I am so happy that he shows the Detroit skyline at the start of the video. He always remembers his roots, and that's one of the reasons I appreciate him so much.
