Inky Babes IV: Elisa Maza

(i felt compelled to add her to the List of Candidates after someone nominated Ellen Yin from "The Batman."  Because let's face it, Ellen Yin was an Elisa Maza clone!  And my Patrons seem to have agreed.)

.
.

"Jessica Rabbit left her old Madame Ink persona behind after she cleaned herself up and married Roger, but "Madame Ink" was not going to vanish so easily.  Marvin Acme was so smitten with the Madame Ink character that he secretly had a perfect photostatic copy of her image made, and had it stored in his vault... where she slumbered for decades in the darkness.  The chance to reintroduce the character in films never came about -- mostly due to a landmark Supreme Court ruling in 1952 that granted citizenship to 'Toons, thus giving them more control over their images.  Over the years, Acme begged Jessica Rabbit to allow him to bring Madame Ink out of the shadows, but she always threatened to sue the pants off of him if he ever did so....

...but after so long dreaming in the darkness of the vault, the copy of Madame Ink took on a life of her own, and one night she oozed from her canister and and escaped the studio to begin her own life.  Although she was the spitting image of Jessica Rabbit coated in black ink, her personality was that of the villainous and megalomaniacal character that she played onscreen.  Having been away from the world for 50 years, she soon learned that there were more cartoon characters than ever... but to her horror, they were all in color -- garish, gaudy, grotesque Technicolor!

Madame Ink felt nauseated wherever she looked.  Color was a disgusting fad, a childish distraction from the artistic purity of black and white!  Did Fritz Lang use color?  Did Ingmar Bergman or Charlie Chaplin use color?  No!  No true artistic genius EVER would.

At that moment, she vowed to return the world to its natural monochromatic state, no matter what.  But... she would need to recruit allies to her cause..."

.....

"...Madame Ink was at the end of her rope.  She had her lair, her minions, and big plans for the future -- but every moment of every day was dissolving into chaos by the bickering of her loyal Ink Slaves.  Alex, Sam, Clover, Harley, and Sedusa were as selfish and immature as they come!  Even Ivy, the most mature of her children, was no match for their childish bickering.  Her loyalty to Harley meant that she was drawn in to every prank and squabble...

"ENOUGH!" Madame Ink shouted, "That is ENOUGH!"

With a wave of her oily hand, her minions melted into a puddle of hibernating ink that she carefully set aside in a large jar.  Finally, some peace and quiet in which to think!

"What i need," she reasoned, "is another adult in the room.  Someone with sense to keep the kids in line.  But whomever could that be?  'Toons aren't generally known for their... sense."

For hours, she pored over her voluminous files, and scanned through endless tapes of all the cartoons that had been created while she was away.  April O'Neil?  Too goody-good.  Wonder Woman?  Too powerful.  Ember McClain?  Not likely..."

She realized that many of her favorite 'toons were marked by the distinctive Disney logo.  Hmm, looks like that young Walt was quite the success, who'd have guessed?

"Ah, now this one is interesting," she murmured, watching an old VHS copy of Walt Disney's Gargoyles.  "A female police officer, how progressive!  And a mulatto, to boot?  I guess times really have changed.  Hmm.... strong moral center, intelligent, creative, dutiful, possesses a certain sympathy for outcasts... why, this lady might be the most rational, level-headed 'toon i've ever seen!  She is a hero, though.  Well, no matter.  I can be very persuasive..."

Madame Ink's diabolical campaign to seduce and recruit Elisa Maza to her cause took quite awhile and had many strange twists and turns, but at last, the beautiful police woman was hers.  Finally, someone worthy to be her second-in-command!"

Yes, she is.... as hilariously racist as a villain from the '20s would be.
