Producers
Added 2021-09-27 20:48:43 +0000 UTCHi everyone!
I'm considering moving the producers content to Ghost, or SquareSpace, but want to get your input first.
Here are some stuff to note;
Pros of Ghost:
- Easier site navigation on mobile and web. Easier access to post and better user experience.
- It allows site customization, which is huge. For example: right now when I post a camera roll post, I can't include videos in them. If I do it on Ghost, I could include videos.
- I could make use of Affiliate marketing. For example: If John invites Joe to the page and Joe signs up, John gets a % of that first sign up fee. This way there's more incentive to spread the word.
- Members can have custom profiles and contributors can post from their own profiles.
- Integration with other web services
Cons:
- There might be more glitches on Ghost because it is open source and updated often with new features that are sometimes in beta for a few months.
- The archives of what I've posted will stay on this page and not on the new page.
I am personally on the side of launching this tier on Ghost and making use of the opportunities that platform allows.
Check out the link of the features ghost has and let me know what you think. I'd like for this to be a community decision.
Comments
I hear you. I could recreate the same Tier system so that option exists on that platform as well. This could be could because it'd mean we could slowly transition away from Patreon onto an entirely new system, I have to see how messaging and commenting works.

It does sound more intuitive from a creator standpoint but there's no reason that posts can't be split up further to allow for video content right? If there's features that sound appealing I'm sure there's work arounds, I know a lot of creators that just post dropbox links or downloadable links for a lot of their content as large image posts on Patreon are pretty slow and horrible to load.
