Dev Log 3.8: Ignition

I'm about halfway through the next scene in the update. I've focused a lot more on writing this week, because I was approaching scenes that I hadn't yet completely finished, and I prefer working through finished scenes so I know that I won't have to go back an re-render or add anything at a later date. I've also had a few odd computer problems with software crashes and earlier today a complete computer freeze (which happened during a render queue but I only noticed after an hour). I'm hoping these don't persist, but it's always a little disconcerting when things seemingly randomly start going a little wrong with no obvious cause.
Anyway, the current render count for the chapter is 389, and I'm still 5/17 scenes done. I've gone through and guessed roughly how many renders I'll need for each remaining scene, to give an approximation on how many renders total will be in the chapter, and the number comes out to ~1600. So closer to the size of ch1 than 2 or 3, which was about what I expected given that the next update is a transitional one. At my current pace, that projects out to roughly a March 2026 release. I'm hoping to quicken my pace now that I'm spending more time on the project, and as I approach fully written scenes I'll be splitting my time less between posing and writing, which will help. All of this, of course, is theoretical, but personally I find it useful to have targets to aim for.
