Aster here, in a rather miserable puddle. :(

While I've been striving to still write chapters even in the midst of the summer madness, I'm entirely dissatisfied with their quality. I technically have around 10k worth of chapters written, but they're just... bad.

I'm also sick at the moment, have a mild fever and sore throat. Reaaally hoping it doesn't get any worse. Fingers crossed.

I am therefore going to pause billing for august. I don't feel confident in my ability to do much better in the midst of the madness and I don't think I can push myself any further at the moment without doing actual damage.

As stated previously, June through August are the busy months at work, so I should be able to resume normal posting rates mid-september. I'll still try to get chapters out during august if at all possible, I'm just not confident enough in my ability to do so that I'd feel right charging y'all for the chance, even at reduced summer rates.

I've really fought against making this change. I hate feeling like I've let y'all down, but at this point when I'm staring down health and my paying job, I don't think I have a choice.

I don't want to do this job over the summer ever again. Quite honestly. This is miserable and I hate it. As soon as the summer is over I'm going to put everything I have into this book, because I want to be able to say this time next year that I'm surviving just fine off patreon and don't need a 14-hr soul-devouring day job.

Arrogant, perhaps, but I'm stubborn and entirely fed up with putting writing on hold for three months out of every year just to have a roof over my head.

So, yeah, this may also be a minor manifesto.

Two months from now, I'll be churning out chapters like never before.
