Dark Souls is my all-time favourite game. It changed me as a person and single-handedly ruined every other game I played afterwards.
I love the gameplay, the hard yet fair difficulty (most of the time at least), the character design and the lore, which is not just amazing but is also told in such a unique and engaging way.
Let us not forget about the mood, which really captures the abandonment and desperation of the world. And the characters? Oh my. Each one of them say few but poignant lines, each one has a goal and motivations, but they all eventually succumb to the dark world they find themselves in.
But so do we...Dark Souls taught me that we all fail at one point in our lives, we can either go crazy with anger, being mad at ourselves and the world, or we can try again and rise over the challenge, becoming stronger than ever.
And when all else fail, let us remember that we are not alone, together we can opt for jolly cooperation and become truly grossly incandescent...
