Grand Siren
Added 2023-05-21 13:18:11 +0000 UTCI completely forgot it was Mermay! So here is an evil SIREN, a vicious and predatory mermaid. In the ancient tales, sirens could bewitch listeners with their singing and they were often depicted with bodies of birds and heads of beautiful women. Over time siren ended up looking more like mermaids, not that I am complaining, we still got harpies that fill the bird/human role.
My take on the mermaid/siren, is a fish that lures humans with its humanoid tongue. The tongue, resembling a woman or a man, can either be alluring or pretend to be a victim in distress!
