September Dormitory Diary Entry - Ueno

Hello, this is Ueno with my September dormitory diary.

I apologize for the delay in posting. Recently, the weather has cooled down quite a bit, and it really feels like we’ve moved from summer into fall.

Drawing regularly is important for improving my skills, but I’ve come to realize how essential observation is. Lately, I’d been so focused on drawing itself that I wasn’t paying as much attention to everything around me. This summer, though, I made a point to observe, experience, and take in all kinds of things, and I feel like I’ve gathered a lot of inspiration. I want to work on translating those experiences into my art.

It’s easy to overlook the little discoveries in a busy day, but I’d like to make more of an effort to notice and enjoy them, even during work.

こんにちは、上野です。9月の寮生日記です。

投稿が大変遅くなりまして申し訳ありません。

最近は随分と気候も涼しくなり、夏から秋になったなあと感じてます。

画力向上のためにも描くということは大事ですが、観察あってこそだなとつくづく感じてます。最近は描くことばかりに必死だったので今年の夏は色々なものを見て、体験して、感じて…と収穫できたものがたくさんあったので、それを絵として表現できるように力をつけたいと思います。忙しい日々で忘れがちですが、仕事中に見つける小さな発見を見逃さないように少しでも楽しめるようにしたいです。
