Here’s my dormitory diary entry for October.
There’ve been times recently where I get a bit chilly on my commute home — it’s starting to feel like the end of Summer. My local supermarket started selling Sanma, a kind of mackerel we have here in Japan that’s supposed to represent “the taste of autumn.” I’d always wanted to buy some but couldn’t bring myself to do so in the end (it’s freaking expensive!)
I got to do some dynamic character motion recently, just some characters standing up from a squatting position. The character design document was so complex that I had a really hard time with the cut. I think I finally got the hang of animating from the side, but man, if the angle on the character is even a little bit off, I just don’t know what to do. I’m gonna try practicing some of my untrained face angles and see if I can’t get over that. One of my seniors tells me that “it’s good preparation to work with design documents as much as possible before being moved up to a key animator!” So I’m taking it as seriously as I can.

10月の寮生日記を投稿します。
最近、帰宅する時に少し肌寒い時があり、夏の終わりを感じます。スーパーには秋刀魚が売っており、いつも買いたいなぁと思いつつ結局買えていません。（高い！）
この間振り向きのカットをやったのですが、屈んだ状態から体を起こすというもので、顔のデッサン割りが難しくて苦戦しました。横の振り向きはなんとなくできるようになったと思うのですが、ちょっと変わった角度になると、つい手が止まってしまいます。苦手な顔の角度は練習して克服していきたいです。先輩に「原画に上がる前ににたくさんデッサン割りしておくといいよ！」と言われたので頑張りたいです！
