Exclusive November Dormitory Diary Entry: Kaneko

Apologies for the late post. Here’s my exclusive dormitory diary entry for December.
I was pumping out drawings pretty consistently until about halfway through November. I was buried up to my neck in deadlines for some major cuts on several different projects, so I ended up pulling a few all-nighters to get them done. For big cuts like these, we animators usually get together and discuss how we’re gonna divide up the work, but this time around we were all on crunch time. It was tough both mentally and physically, and it really messed with my health. I thought that I might reach 200 drawings that month, but I came up just a bit too short...I always try my best to draw as much as I can at the start of the month, but then my motivation starts to drop, and when that happens, so does my productivity. I think this is going to be my biggest challenge going forward.
The end of the year is almost here, and a lot of my peers have been talking about going home for the holidays, but it looks like plane seats are already fully booked, and even a one-way ticket costs upwards of 30,000 yen. I was surprised to see that. I have no plans to go home for the New Year, but I wish my peers a good time with their families.
We’ve got one more month left in the year, and I’d like to spend it in good health.
