Hello everyone. Kaneko here.
Here’s my exclusive diary entry for September.
My work has largely been consistent with my August post. We’re doing our final checks and revisions while pumping out in-between frames as the keyframes come in. My pay is up since I’ve been doing a lot of big, 30~50 page cuts recently. I try to think positively and calculate the daily frames I need to do to meet deadlines, but the characters usually have a lot of accessories or are doing complex movements, so I end up whining while working close to the deadline anyway.
As for my physical condition, I had severe back pain for a few days, probably because I spend most of the day sitting and don't get a chance to exercise. I’ve always had chronically stiff shoulders and other issues, but for the past few days, compresses and painkillers have been my best friend as it hurts to just walk normally. I really think that animation has its physically demanding elements, so if your physical health is any sort of compromised, your work efficiency plummets. I try to find time to do some light stretches, but I usually fall asleep when I get home from work, so my lack of exercise is probably catching up with me. With the changing of the seasons, I’m gonna try to pay special attention to my physical health. Please take good care of yourselves, everyone.
