Hey everyone, Kimura here.

This is my dormitory diary entry for August.

It’s almost time for the lantern festival holidays here. How will you guys be spending it?

I know I said that everyone came back to the office during July, but since last weekend, we’ve returned to remote work. I guess more and more people have been saying that they don’t feel well at the company, so we’re trying to address that. Just when I think I’m getting used to my environment, it changes, so that’s been rather difficult to deal with. I’ve gotta figure out how to remain consistent in my performance regardless of where I’m working if I’m gonna improve though, so I’ve been experimenting with ways to do that.

Work has also been sluggish. I’ve been having to work overtime more often because I’m not meeting my quota for frames within our normal hours. I thought this was something that all new animators had to deal with, but my only in-between animator friend does their work without any problems and gets to go home despite us being peers, so that’s been hard to swallow. I’m struggling to not fall behind.

Unrelated, but I’ve made my first big purchase with all the money I’ve raised over these last 4 or so months. Glasses! It’s been about 7 or 8 years since I last had new glasses, so that’s exciting. Alright! Now time to earn that money back!

P.S. My drawings we’re published on the Animator Grand Prix website! That’s so cool!
