Hello.
Kimura here, and I was recently invited out by one of my art school teachers.
Here’s my exclusive diary entry for April.
About a month has passed since I started in-between animation training. I’ve had to learn one new thing after another for training and haven’t had any time to get used to the work.
Training consists of clean-up and tweening [1],
At first, I thought, "What the heck, I've done this before on university projects.” Then regretted taking it so lightly. The quality expected of us now is on a different level compared to before. I get the impression that nothing short of perfection is allowed.
Despite spending several hours diligently completing my drawings, they get blanketed by corrections in red ink. It’s had a big impact on my mental state. One needs to grow thick skin to survive in this industry.
*Sniffle sniffle*
Still, it’s not like it’s all bad. There’s a lot of good too. An upperclassman from my time in university got their name put into the credits of an anime, I pass by well-known animators, I’m getting along with my peers at the dormitory, and getting to know more artists is having a positive effect on my motivation.
I’m gonna draw so much during Golden Week!!
Incidentally, I drew this illustration on the day of the pink moon.
