Episode 2 progress, famous cats, player created characters and patron appreciation.

What a title!

Episode 2 is shaping up. We’re about ⅔ through the draft. If all goes well we should have a complete first draft by end of the week, maybe earlier.

We changed our process slightly from how we created the first episode. With the first episode, we did a lot of the writing directly inside our engine. It made coding easier but made editing a nightmare. We’ve since changed this. We believe that ultimately it will allow us to deliver more polished stories, with less turnaround time.

In other news, we’re looking into ways how to make the story more personal. We’ve given it some discussion and much thought. It’s still too soon to make any concrete promises, but players might be getting the option to create their own character that interacts with the world and other actors. This will also make it easier for our writers to create side stories and other flavored entertainment.

Also, as a fun community event, we’ve given some of our fans and followers who own a cat the opportunity to have said feline companion immortalized in the game as Cleo. Patrons will help us decide who the lucky cat will be by voting.

Lastly, we’ve been discussing ways to add value to all our amazing patrons. Episode 2 will probably be for patrons only until episode 3 takes its place as patron-only. That way patrons will always be 1 episode ahead of everyone else. If you have additional ideas on how we can show our appreciation to our patrons, please feel free to let us know!
