aaron pauls character was a true 60s man and just stoic, unemotional, uncomfortable with these replicas while josh hartnett's character was a more free spirit and fine with his replica romancing his wife because it was still him as the consciousness whereas aaron was so uptight religious he never touched his wife in that form. thats why she said she wanted her husband BACK because he was probably better to her on earth. he was still an ahole for shutting her away from the world on some random farm with no friends or entertainment AND acting aloof when he was "there". jesus give the woman some leeway! some books, live in a suburb where she's surrounded by friends to mingle with. but alas typical selfish 60s dude.
