Yes, it’s a bigger issue in the book, her mom is super judgement that she is still nursing when they get home. The scene at the first dinner when he asks for “juice” in the movie is his word for asking to breastfeed in the book.

2023-03-11 03:37:27 +0000 UTCYo this is maybe my third time seeing this film and I just realized that at 2:06:06 when Jack grabs at her shirt, says "Can I?" and Ma says "No, there's no more left" and starts crying saying she's not a good mom.... Homegirl was breastfeeding him this whole time, probably just because it was a guaranteed food source. And of course deadbeat kidnapper wasn't buying no formula. The stress of still not having her body to herself, after escaping and all the hormonal and situational stress going on at the time. Makes sooo much sense why she was struggling so badly. Fantastic reaction as always lmaoo
