This first season is 26 episodes, and season 2 Higurashi no naku koro ni Kai is 24 episodes. The best way to explain it is that yes... every arc always resets and the events are always different, but the characters remain the same. With every new arc we simply learn more information about the already established main cast to gain a better understanding of them. As we learn new information about them, it recontextualizes their behavior we saw in previous arcs. Now regarding solving the mystery on what is going on and why things are happening, its basically about catching what is similar and what is different between each arc. But then there's the extra catch on who can you trust? What information can you trust as the truth? Well... whatever remains consistent over every arc has to be the truth, right? The major question that is being asked right now is... do you believe its a supernatural cause or simple human conspiracies? Hope to request more episodes next month! Anyway, have a good one
