Ok. That makes sense. I wondered why he just had his actual name. I do believe though that knowing it is a true story would have probably affected my outlook on the film. Then finding out that it's based on his real life wife. I can't explain why this would have probably changed my thoughts.
2022-12-25 18:04:52 +0000 UTCWife here! I didn’t realize the movie didn’t start with “based on a true story”. Totally thought it did. Anyway, knowing that this actually happened in real life definitely changes the feel (for me). He and Emily are married in real life now (real life Emily was played by an actress in the movie) and co-wrote the movie with him. I loved the movie, but totally understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
