Maybe if we're talking only economy they're both "right-leaning".

Thanks for reacting to that, I'm so happy you're actually following through with this. I like this show a lot, I'm a Historian and I have a special interest in Brazilian Republic History, therefore I kind of follow a lot of politics, both current and past. It's very interesting to see this representation of American politics, it's something that greatly differs from our domestic politics but also looks very familiar, once the political system of Brazil was pretty much based on the United States(the Republican political movement that took down the monarchy was influenced by US Republicans). I think this show delivers great acting and writing, you actually thought some of the lines were cheesy, I never got that feeling, but that may be becasue english is not my mother tongue and I can miss these subleties that a native speaker won't. Other funny thing is the balance of political power in the US. You guys have no left-wing at all. Of course being the major Capitalism player in the world means that a debate on Capitalism won't take place in the US the same way it happens in the other countries that are differently affected by it. Even in Europe the political debate between left and right means that the left is critic of capitalism and the right is not, elementary speaking. In the US the "left-wing" is Liberals that believe in wellfare state, meaning that even the left-wing wouldn't be actually critical of capitalism and are just proposing moderate reforms to ease the negative impacts of capitalism on low class US citizens. For the rest of the world, that kind of unanimity on politics it's kind of crazy. In Brazil we are living a peculiar time where alt-right politics group kind of came out of nowhere(not really, Steve Bannon really doing stuff over here) during the Trump mandate. But having that said, in Brazil there's more of a ideological separation between left and right, meaning the left will be critic of capitalism, maybe even socialist in some cases. In the US the thought of a tax-spend liberal Education reform was "two steps left of Karl Marx" LOL. I felt I said that before, but I think your reactions really shine when you comment on social and political issues, like your reactions on Sopranos, Peaky Blinders and other movies shows. Thanks for you content, next episode!

Bro it was so great hearing your thoughts on this. And you're absolutely right about Chiefs of Staff, I worked for a city councilwoman and her chief of staff had the most profound impact on my life. I can't even fully describe her; she was eerily cunning with the most gentle viciousness I've ever experienced, and such a workaholic that she ignored stomach cancer pangs up until the 2016 DNC and within a couple weeks she was dead. She would keep a tight grip on the goings-on at the council office while at the same time stepping out and directing campaigns for both the councilwoman and Hilary in her region. This is not an exaggeration, both her and the councilwoman were like fucking machines, all the way into the grave. I quit shortly after she died.
