WIP DAY - Bootyful

Hey, wip day was delayed so it could land on this fine day!
Huge progress while we all wait for the mocap system which was confirmed by rokoko would be sent by the end of march. But yet no updates so far.
We also eagerly await the new character creator 4 from reallusion to expand our selection of inhabitants in Lustgard.

The renders above are WIP, and is mostly without any makeup or other fakery, this is neccessary when inspecting the natural color behaviour of the body and skin in different lighting scenarious, this to ensure that the skin type can be put in any scene and be portrayed correctly.
Not like before... When she needed a lot of tweaking in between each render to find good results.

The progress I have made is in several areas, I finally found the time to upgrade the mega skin shader for LGGF (Njorijanna) to be using a more authenthicc look for her type of skin. To explain, during the many years as an artist, I have evolved yet again, and by watching, learning and doing like the masters did before me, Im going to teach you about color zones of the human body today.

You see there are many different color zones the body has, depending on veins/bones(blue), pigmentation(dark), fat(yellow) and muscle tissue(red), we can get an idea by looking up this online or inspecting real people, how this would affect a painting or in our case, texturing. The image above illustrates what Njorijanna was missing. So, I implemented this for her during the previous week along with a brand new shader.

It added a ton of extra realism to her. The above renders was my second attempt at a colormap, and still needs some fine tuning to hit perfection.

I have to explain this one, it is the new custom vertex color driven roughness values. (gloss maps helper)

I was inspecting the uv maps after sculpting to be correct when a height map value was totally off. I have no idea if its the boobs or the eyes that makes this alien so plausible with its eyes, but a funny shape to capture.

Speaking of sculpting, here is a close up of the job I had to do.
A hand drawn 27 million verts multires sculpt to be able to make the new and improved normal maps and displacement maps.
So Im proud to say she now has a ultra high definition mesh for when those really upclose shots is needed. She was previously based on textures to reach that level, but not 27 million verts level.

Njorijanna also got a new eye texture and slightly improve shading, I believe they still need some tweaking, but progress anyhow.

Below I have also supplied a video to show the new settings for viewport, and to show how fast this new computer really is, all thanks to the support by you, the Lustgardians.

I know art and animations have been scarce, but I mean to up that very soon. Have some big catching up to do.

And no, I have not started a bony chick mesh Its a reference ultra high detailed basemesh from zbrush, I needed to inspect to ensure quality for my own lady.

I keep chasing realism and perfection, but, Im also having a blast on this journey as an 3D artist.
