RESOURCES 5
Added 2018-11-06 00:01:17 +0000 UTCsome musings: the last months have been pretty hard on me what with the lack of time, to the point when i'm considering changing the patron (yet again) pledges to pay-what-you-want, in order to take off some of my pressure and streamline the posts a bit. juggling the tiers and making sure everyone gets what they paid for every month is way harder than i thought! it would probably be easier if i were able to support myself via patreon only. any thoughts?
bit of resources:
- textures refs! my idiot brain forgot pinterest is a wonderful resource when it comes to textures; i wouldn't use them to photobash but they look super neat to be used as references and perhaps make a meme or two.
- gyazo - i realised this is one of the softwares i use so much it seems to me everyone knows about it. but in case someone doesn't, it's a very handy screencapture software, super easy to use!
i finally learned something, lads
i am not a lineart person and so i constantly try to find the one style that suits me best! i didn't really pay much attention to how much it can change the vibe of the whole piece, so i put the three next to one another, it's a neat exercise and different lines provide different effects. hatching is my go-to, it helps quickly outline the light source and shaded areas; the hard shadows is pretty stylised and i enjoy it from time to time, it works best with flat colurs; and the last clean (ha) lineart is best when i know i'll be laying down cel shading and i don't want to overdetail the piece!

it's by no means laying down values, but the first two help define the darkest shadows easily;
toodles! 💕
