Sprawled on the basement floor of my mom's boyfriend's place, I was coloring in a Disney book with MuchMusic (Canada's MTV) on in the background when the opening notes of this song began to play. I looked up and saw Britney with her lil puff-ball pigtail braids and was INSTANTLY hooked. I stopped what I was doing to get up and bop around the room.
This song was released in September 1998, which means I was 11 years old. I wanted so badly to be like Britney. Her first and second albums were my absolute favorite of all time, so when I was deciding which song from my past to record next, I picked this one.
