It reads: Man, if I ever made it to this goal I would gladly record an album just over one game (or game series) soundtrack. I would make a poll, people could vote and shit, it would be great. This won't happen for a LONG time.
Long time my ass Jakey. Now, I got a couple different ideas on how I could go about this.
a) chop up samples from just one game/series (e.g Silent Hill, Goldeneye, whatever) make some beats out of those, maybe do some vocals on top, maybe not. Either way, this route would be similar to beats/songs I've made in the past, but only pulling samples from one game or game series.
b) I keep the songs exactly how they are (like the bomb ass PAUSE screen music in Goldeneye) and just record some vocals over the tracks. Like write a bunch of ballads over the Final Fantasy VII or Perfect Dark soundtrack or some shit, IDK.
also, as many of you may know - I am working on an actual album consisting of songs I've been writing for a while. Progress has been all over the place in the past year, but lately I've been super pumped on the direction it's taking and I'm probably 70% done with it. It's a concept album, and it'll tie in with themes from Cafeteria and Moby Dick. And also the DOOM beat. That's all I'm gonna say.
THAT BEING SAID
Doing a smaller project for this Patreon goal, say a 4-5 song EP sounds like a fun little break from everything else I've been working on and I could potentially even re-purpose some scrapped tracks from my album depending on the game chosen.
so - your thoughts? concerns? ideas? I wanna hear em all.

$2,000 is no joke and if someone told me 2 years ago that this was all possible, I would have called them insane. You have no idea how much I appreciate all your comments/messages/DMs on snapchat (even if I don't always respond because I'm forgetful) and I take none of this for granted. I'd go with a). I just really like your style man, BUT, I support you here because I want you to have creative freedom so do whatever feels best dude. My favourite game is a Souls game too (DS3, sooooo goood), maybe you could do an album about the souls game series.

You've talked about the game multiple times before and I think it's got one of the most varied and high quality soundtracks of a game, ever. Regardless of if you do that though, I'm hype. Also, and I know that this is a stretch, but maybe do an album for video game years? Like, 1980-1985, 1985-1990, etc. Or the release dates of milestone consoles/video games. Idk, maybe do none of those things, haha. Either way, I know that we're all excited. We're being the fans. Specifically, YOUR fans Jakey. Dog bless my man.

Why not ask fans to send you some instrumental songs, and hopefully you will find some DANK tracks to mix and throw some vocal over. Might hear something new that could blow your mind. As soon as you dropped into those 2 bars on the Metroid beat, I knew it was love... So that’s why I’m thinking that option, even if you didn’t have to stick to one game, or made full versions of the examples in that video, like the resident evil save room, I would be stoked! On the other hand, having some fire beats made by yourself, sampling some of the sweetest hooks out there (I know you got the best taste 😎) would be sick to vibe to too.
