Thank you rain! and so true haha, could have added subtle wrinkles to the mother but maybe she got pregnant very young who knows!? haha And in this case it wasn't super hard to draw them both since I could use the same layers of hair lineart etc because they were the same colors, but sometimes the amount of layers with multiple characters can get a little out of hand. I found posing really hard in the past, but I practiced that a lot in general so it got better ;)

If not for her different fashion sense and more angular face, it would be easy to make the classic cliche anime trope of mistaking the mother for the older sister. Ara ara, anyone! ๐ As a whole, this commission turned out rather cute. I especially love the second image where Reiko has her eyes closed. ๐ฅบ To me, the motherly vibes comes across stronger there. Perhaps this is why RCF requested both versions? Did you have a favorite part of this piece, Naomochi? Do you find that two character commissions are much more challenging, aside from just the extra work involved?
