I Watched *Nanny McPhee* (2005) For The First Time

I must say, this is good as a more emotionally-challenging alternative to Mary Poppins.

I heard they were looking to make a third film in this series; it's a shame it didn't materialize; I would have liked to see that.

If you want more Emma Thompson movies, Saving Mr Banks is a good choice for this channel

I enjoyed watching this with you! I loved it as a kid but I haven't watched it in years until today! I enjoyed the sequel as well so you should definitely check that out!

My little brother who was Gen z loved this movie when it came out he loved the “secret toast” line. He has since passed. I haven’t seen it in about a decade because of that. But I’m excited to watch it again.

At the end of the day, we guys have good freakin taste lol! I adore this film, such a memory from my childhood. And I absolutely love the musical theme of the ending ("Snow in August"). The composer, Patrick Doyle, is actually the same composer as Harry Potter 4 (Goblet of Fire). And regarding the snow at the end, I don't know if you catch it, but the Chef (Ismelda Staunton - which is Umbridge in Harry Potter) always say that when the Brown Family will start to go straight ahead, there will be snow in August. So that explains the end. And oh lord the acting is incredible, in particular the acting of the children!!! ( Simon is actually Newt from Maze Runner, if you saw it, that explain why he looks familiar.) About the film: In my opinion Nanny McPhee doesn't use her magic when Simon has the idea of marry Evengeline and his dad. I just think they might just messed with the sound effect, by not using it properly. Or maybe they tried to translate the idea that Nanny McPhee and Simon have the same idea at the same moment, idk. And yeah, there's a second film, but I'm not as fond of it as the 1st one but it has it's charm, and without spoiling the story, the cast is stunning like Dame Maggie Smith please!
