Experimental Spells?
Added 2023-07-21 12:01:02 +0000 UTCNow, one trope of the genre is that they get an experimental thing, and it's god-tier. It works perfectly, maybe has one or two flaws, but it lets them outstrip others around them.
This won't be that. Probably.
I've got a table of results, and I'm going to roll randomly to determine just how effective the spell is. I've attached this table so you know the odds, if you're a fan of that.

No matter the result there is the benefit of improving their standing with the library. What I'm really hoping for is that, even in case of it being situational, it will improve efficacy of a second gate harvesting spell.

If it turned out to like actively kill him and it was a race against time could be neat. I just want the emotional highs from either success or failure. But I'm sure you will manage to make it work no matter what you end up doing.

2023-07-21 13:48:14 +0000 UTCI don't mind powerful MC's (I liked Last Horizon better than Cradle, though I should keep that on the down low, or I'll be killed), the 'experimental thing catapults the MC' is just a trope that I feel tends to be... A bit overdone. Experimental stuff does sometimes work out amazing, but it also often just winds up pretty middle of the road, or totally failing. I wanted to kinda capture that randomness
