Vote for our next Drama Club Jdrama!

Mango is supposed to pick our next Jdrama, but she's undecided! So we decided to take a poll from the 5 that she's interested in. We'll announce the winner during our next podcast.

Please vote! We're excited to see what you pick for us. :)

Here's the list:

1. Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai

31-year-old Kishibe Mitsuru (Ikuta Toma) has been unemployed since seven years ago. After graduating from university, he got hooked on coffee and started a business but it failed. However, no one can beat him in a war of words and he keeps using twisted logic to gloss over his own hopelessness. Mitsuru lives off his mother Fusae (Harada Mieko), who runs the cafe left to her by her late husband. But his life suddenly changes when his older sister Ayako (Koike Eiko) and her family (Yasuda Ken, Kiyohara Kaya) come to live with them while their house is being rebuilt. Ayako concludes that Mitsuru is simply escaping from reality and faults their mother for how he turned out. Will he be able to overcome this misfortune and stand on his own two feet?

2. Sutekina Sen Taxi

Edawakare is the driver of Sentaxi, a marvellous vehicle which is able to take a passenger back to his or her “life’s turning point”. His cool appearance is at odds with his talkative, meddlesome, sweet-toothed character. He gives advice to passengers who are flustered after failing in their life’s choice.

3. Kyo Kara Ore wa!!

Two transfer students, Mitsuhashi Takashi and Itou Shinji, tired of their boring normal life and unpopularity decide to take their arrival at a new school as an opportunity to reinvent their image, and become delinquents! Itou’s justice clashing with Mitsuhashi’s mischievous ways, they initially antagonize one another but soon become fast friends. The delinquent duo set out on various misadventures to become the greatest delinquents in all Japan!

4. Kino Nani Tabeta?

Kakei Shiro is a 45 year old lawyer who works at a small law firm. He is a good cook and a meticulous and thrifty person who keeps the monthly food budget to 25,000 yen. Shiro’s daily routine is to leave work on time and head to a discount supermarket nearby. His partner Yabuki Kenji is the affable hairdresser in his 40s. The two of them share a two-bedroom apartment and the finer points of two men living together comes up at the dining table every day. Although the two of them have been in a relationship for three years and Shiro’s parents know he is gay, Shiro never shares the fact that he is gay or Kenji is his partner to anyone.

5. Nigatsu no Shosha

Kuroki Kurodo was an extremely competent teacher at a prestigious cram school for the middle school entrance exam. He begins to work as the director of a cram school with poor performance. He declares that the students here will pass their middle school examinations. Kurodo states a cram school is a service business and the school is a place to sell children’s future to parents.

Hahah! We can probably pick the 2nd highest voted drama for the following watch-along

Duong Nguyen

I voted Kyou Kara Ore wa because it's already at the top of my planning to watch list, but I guess more accurately my vote is 'anything except Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai'... I watched it around December which is long enough ago that I'd need to rewatch it but not long enough ago that I'd be willing to :') I guess feel free to add my vote to anything that isn't that lol
